Public finances for climate (EUKI)
In our public finance activities, we are building on the Green Restart initiative, which was established in 2020 through a collaboration of environmental organisations to advocate for climate and environmentally responsible post-covid recovery.
Zmena klímy v centre výdavkov Európskej únie a Slovenska
Európska zelená dohoda a balík Fit for 55
Hlavný legislatívnym nástrojom na dosiahnutie cieľa uhlíkovej neutrality je balík Fit for 55. Jeho cieľom aktualizovať legislatívu EÚ v súlade s cieľom v oblasti klímy do roku 2030 znížiť emisie do roku 2030 najmenej o 55 % (v porovnaní s rokom 1990).
More about REPowerEU in Slovakia
The EU’s REPowerEU initiative was created in response to the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. One of its main objectives is to accelerate renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy saving. REPowerEU will be a chapter of the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic and currently the preparation of its content is underway in Slovakia under the National Implementation and Coordination Authority (NICA under the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic).
We consider it important that the voice of NGOs dealing with the issues concerned is also heard. However, we want to involve a wider range of NGOs in the drafting of REPower, especially those focusing on nature and landscape protection, in order to balance the need to speed up permitting processes and environmental protection.
The preparation of the REPower chapter, as it is a response to a crisis, is very fast and the involvement of actors does not reflect established participatory processes. The ambition of the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Civil Society Development is to use at least the basic framework for consultation set by EU legislation.
